Who are God's People

I heaven's eyes, who are considered God's people? In God's reckoning who are counted as His children or His church? This is a serious question. Are all of the religious bodies in the earth who profess a belief in God considered by God as His people? Their conflicting teachings on what is the truth is as different as night and day.

The holy record teaches us that, "God is a Spirit" (John 4:24) and "you must be born again" or you cannot enter the kingdom of God. It also teaches that being born again is being born of the Spirit, and that one who is born of the spirit is spirit John 3:3-6. So it is clear from the scriptures that all who have not been born into the family of God are not His people. Also in John 8:12-47 we find an account of one of the exchanges between Christ and some church leaders. Here Christ reproved them, and clearly stated that if they were God's children they would love him, and believe and receive the truth. Further, Jesus declared, it was because they were not of God that they refuse to receive and believe the truth. The Master even further denounced them by declaring "ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him". So from this account we can plainly see that all who say they are God's people are not. What one believes and lives proves if they are of God, or of the Devil. Teaching the truth or receiving the truth is not an unnecessary appendix to being the people of God. The truth is not the truth just because one chooses to embrace it. Nor is belief in the truth optional. Neither is truth determined by human opinion, choice or wisdom. The Saviour said "I am the truth" (John 14:6) "and no man cometh unto God but by me." Beloved everyone who say that God is their father, and that they believe in God, are not his people! The holy word says in John 4:23 that the "true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him." One must worship God in truth. One must worship God according to the truth, while believing in the truth, and living the principles of truth. This is the proof of who belongs to God and who does not. John 8:32 declares, "ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Free from lies, free from sin, free from guilt, free from condemnation, free from deceptions, and free to live the life of God in purity and power. That is why God recreates new born creatures, who are born of the spirit, even the "Spirit of Truth" who the Bible says "will guide you into all truth." John 16:13. The truth is of all the importance in heaven and in earth. God declares "and this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." John 3:19-21. Beloved as children of God let the same testimony which was stated of Christ be stated of us likewise, which is, "we know that thou are true, and teachest the way of God in truth." For if we first know the truth, and then live the truth, and finally teach the truth, the words of Christ are applicable to us. Jesus said "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." Matt 12:50. They that know the truth and live the truth, and naturally teach and speak the truth, these according to the scriptures are God's people. In this apostate Christian world where comprise is dominant, and flagrant sin and evil habits of all sorts are regarded as a small matter not worthy of any concern, we declare Rom 2:13, and plead that whosoever hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit says; we read, "For not the hearers of the law are just before God but the doers of the law shall be justified! What one does, not just what they say they believe: What one lives, not just what they profess; the way one walks, not just how and what they talk is of all the importance in heaven and in earth. For only those who do God's law of love shall be counted just by God and counted as one of his people. James 1:22 commands, "Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." How many countless millions in Christendom mistakenly choose to believe that God will excuse their cherished sins, and cover their iniquity that they utterly refuse to be set free from. And then God will save them by His grace which he uses to cover and excuse their love for sin and slavery to it. All such deceive themselves. God says in Ephesians chapter 5 that Christ is the head and husband, of his people or body or church. He will sanctify and cleanse it, and present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it shall be holy and without blemish. In this time of great apostasy, iniquity and false doctrines in the professed Christian churches on all the earth, we need to understand that the goats in place of the sheep, the tares in place of the wheat, and the specious in place of the genuine are in the overwhelming majority. We must understand clearly the truth revealed in Rom 9:6-8 which reveal, " that not all who are Israelites are true Israelites". Further, it teaches that not all those who are the children of Abraham are the true children of Abraham. In verse 8 it plainly states that "they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God." So as it was true then so it is true today. Not everybody who joins the church and says they are saved is truly saved. Not everyone who professes to be born again is spirit filled. Not all who claim to believe, and who claim God's promises are genuine believers. If they know, believe, teach, and live the truth they are God's people. If they are 24 hours a day 7 days a week doers of the word-the law of love, then they are God's people. Remember Beloved the Bible says in James chapter 2, "Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." "For what doth it profit, my brethren though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him." "Thou believest that there is one God' thou doest well; the devils also believe and tremble, so know O vain man that faith without works is dead". "For as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also." So Beloved we see that the genuine people of God have the genuine faith of Jesus that works. They hear it, and do it. There is but one Biblical and genuine faith. It is far more than just talk and profession. It is an effective faith through which God channels power that works transformation, which lives godly and righteous lives. So, "Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham". Gal 3:7 God's people are the people of genuine faith that works. These are the children of Abraham who know, believe, and teach the truth, because they are born of, and lead by the Spirit of truth. They live to do the will of God which is the law of love. These alone are God's people upon all the earth.
